Missing Person - The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 28 year old Antonio Pacheco of Pembroke. Mr. Pacheco is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 6’ tall weighing around 190 pounds with brown hair. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt, white shorts and brown shoes, with two small earrings in each ear as well as a thin gold chain around his neck. Mr. Pacheco was last seen at The Bistro at The Beach on Front Street in the City of Hamilton around 3am Wednesday, July 28th 2010.

Injury RTC - Around 8:55pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Pomander Road in Paget near the junction with Harbour Road involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was parked on Pomander Road and the motorcycle was traveling along Pomander Road when the rider, a 25 year old Pembroke man, lost control and collided with the parked car. The Pembroke man sustained head & facial injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Update: Injury RTC - Around 6:25pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling west on North Shore Road when the rider, an 18 year old Pembroke man, lost control and collided with a wall. He apparently sustained a head injury and abrasions to the body which are not believed to be life threatening. The Pembroke man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries. The motorcycle received relatively minor damage.

Injury RTC - Around 6:25pm today, Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo. Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at this time; however it appears that the rider of the motorcycle involved, an 18 year old Pembroke man, sustained a head injury. The motorcycle received relatively minor damage. Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately an hour. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC - At 7:20am on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Crow Lane and Lane Hill in Pembroke involving a water truck and a motorcycle. Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at this time; however the rider of the motorcycle, a 26 year old Warwick man, sustained facial injuries. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The water truck driver, a 27 year old Southampton man, was not injured. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the water truck received minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary - Around 7:30pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Cavendish Road, Pembroke residence. It appears that sometime between 8:20am and 7pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a watch and a black Motorola cellular phone. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC - Around 8:25am today, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road involving a taxi and a motorcycle. Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at this time; however the rider of the motorcycle, a 48 year old Warwick man, sustained leg & arm injuries, as well as abrasions to his forehead. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the taxi, a 76 year old Sandys parish man, was not injured. The taxi received moderate front end damage while the motorcycle was extensively damaged.

Confirmed Firearm Incident in Pembroke - Around 3:35am today, Police responded to a confirmed firearm incident in the area of Court Street and Elliot Street in Pembroke. Details about what occurred are unclear at the moment; however there were no reported injuries. An active investigation into this incident is underway. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area or anyone with any information to call the Serious Crime Unit on 299-8121 or the confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

Search Continues for Escaped Prisoner Alvone Maybury - The special task force assembled to find Alvone Maybury, consisting of 24 Police officers and 3 Prison officers, is carrying out specific actions in relation to specific leads as and when they are received. All Police officers are involved in the capture of Mr. Maybury and remain on high alert and vigilant. A number of leads are being pursued, some of which have resulted in the execution of several search warrants. A number of community sources have also been engaged to assist in this matter.

Vehicle Fire - Around 6:15pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a vehicle fire. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene. It appears that a car parked outside a Rosemont Avenue, Pembroke residence caught fire sometime after 5pm that day. Fire & Rescue Service personnel subsequently extinguished the blaze. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Recovered Vehicle - Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating a purple Suzuki Alto car with license plate 40075, which was reported stolen from outside a Point Shares Road, Pembroke residence sometime between 8pm on Tuesday and 8am on Wednesday. The vehicle was subsequently located and recovered on Point Finger Road in Paget around 11am today.

Update: Escaped Prisoner Alvone Maybury - Police are still looking for escaped prisoner 24 year old Alvone Maybury. It appears that 24 year old Maybury escaped from custody as he was being led from Magistrates’ Court after a court appearance on firearms charges. A special task force has been established by Bermuda Police Service and Department of Corrections to continue the systematic search for Maybury. He is described as brown skinned wearing his hair in braids.

Update: Serious Injury RTC - Around 10:10pm on Sunday, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury near the junction of North Shore Road and Jennings Road in Smith’s parish involving a taxi and a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling east on North Shore Road and the taxi was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 35 year old Hamilton parish man sustained injuries to his head, hands and feet. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Update: Confirmed Firearm Incident in Sandys Parish - The victim, a 30 year old Paget man, was treated for a gun shot wound to the leg and subsequently released from the hospital on Saturday. Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this confirmed firearm incident which occurred around 2:05pm on Saturday, in the area of Somerset Road and Sound View Road in Sandys parish.

Theft - At 7:50am today, Police attended a reported theft from St. David’s Primary School. The complainant stated that sometime between 3pm on Thursday and 6:30am on Friday, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the school grounds and stole 11 goldfish from the school’s fish pond. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for anyone with any information about the missing goldfish to contact the Southside Police Station on 293-2222.

Burglary - Around 6:55pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Devon Heights Road, Devonshire residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8:30am and 6:45pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry and two laptop computers. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving - At 3:15am today, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Scenic Heights Pass involving a car and a taxi. It appears that the car was traveling east on Middle Road and the taxi was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The driver of the car, a 22 year old Paget man and the driver of the taxi, a 48 year old Warwick man were not injured. The driver of the car was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Both the car and the taxi received extensive damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
