The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 14 year old India Burchall. The teenager is
described as brown skinned, approximately 5’6” tall of slim build weighing 122 pounds with low cut naturally curly dark brown hair. She was reported missing on Friday, January 6th and apparently has been seen as recently as Monday, January 9th near West End Primary School on Scott’s Hill Road in Sandys parish.

Stefan Burgess who was 24 years of age and lived in the parish of Pembroke.
Impaired Drivers - Around 2:40am on Monday January 9th, a car was travelling along Crow Lane, Pembroke near the junction with Corkscrew Hill when it was caused to stop by police officers on mobile patrol. The driver, a 29 year old Southampton man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving as a result. He was detained in police custody. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Assistant Commissioner of Police David Mirfield – At 9pm on Sunday, January 8th police were called to an address on The Glebe Road in Pembroke following reports of gunshots. On arrival it was clear that a firearm incident had taken place. Subsequently two males, both aged 24, were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
Sadly one of those males has succumbed to his injuries and died at hospital. The other victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. This is now a murder investigation.
Update: Sudden Death - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 57 year old Michael Wilkinson of St. George’s. It appears that around 11am on Saturday, January 7th a member of the public discovered Mr. Wilkinson’s lifeless body floating in waters near the Swing Bridge in St. George's. He apparently lived on a boat in the area. The Marine Unit and Forensic Support Unit attended the scene and conducted inquiries. As a result, there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances; however an autopsy is anticipated. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mr. Wilkinson.
Around 11am on Saturday, January 7th police responded to a report of a body found floating in the waters near the Swing Bridge in St. George's. The lifeless body of a man was subsequently located and officers including members of the Marine Unit attended, conducting inquiries at the scene. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and no further information will be released until the next of kin have been notified.
The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their response to the media appeal regarding a large quantity
of suspected stolen jewellery.
In total 137 members of the public attended the Hamilton Police Station between 10am and 2:30pm on Friday, January 6th to view the items, with additional inquiries via e-mail and phone from those who were unable to make today’s viewing.
As a result another time and date will be announced when the jewellery can be viewed by the public.
Impaired Driver - Around 7pm on Thursday January 5th, police responded to a collision on Berry Hill Road near the junction with Point Finger Road in Paget. It appears that two cars were travelling along Berry Hill Road when they collided. There were no injuries reported. One of the drivers, a 51 year old Warwick man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of impaired driving. He subsequently failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
A large quantity of suspected stolen jewellery has been recovered after police executed a search warrant in relation to an
ongoing investigation.
Detectives investigating the case are encouraging anyone who may have had jewellery stolen, particularly prior to June 15th 2011, to attend the Hamilton Police Station at 52 Victoria Street in Pembroke to view the recovered items between 10am and 2pm on Friday, January 6th 2012.
